Suicide cleanup

Discreet, careful cleanup of a home or vehicle after a death by suicide, coordinated with the family or property owner.

What this involves

The cleanup itself is similar to other trauma cleanup: blood and other materials may have reached porous surfaces that need removal, and the area needs to be disinfected. What is different is the situation the family is in. Our job is to take the physical work entirely off your hands and to do it without drawing attention.

Why professional remediation matters

The biological hazards are real, but the stronger reason is that families should not have to see or handle this. A professional crew can also identify and set aside personal items, papers and keepsakes so that nothing meaningful is lost.

What to avoid before help arrives

  • Do not go back into the room to clean or look. If you need something from the house, tell us and we will retrieve it.
  • Do not discard personal items from the room yourself.

How the work is done

  1. One conversation. We speak with one family contact or the property owner, explain the plan plainly, and agree on what should be kept.
  2. Quiet arrival. We keep equipment out of view where possible and do not discuss the work with neighbors.
  3. Removal and cleaning. Affected materials are removed and packaged; remaining surfaces are cleaned and disinfected.
  4. Personal items. Keepsakes, documents and valuables found in the area are cleaned where possible and returned to you.
  5. Final check. We inspect the room and let you know when it is ready, before anyone needs to go in.

Waste handling

Contaminated materials are handled as regulated medical waste.

Questions

Do we need to be there while you work?

No. Many families prefer not to be. We need access, a contact by phone, and a decision on any personal items.

Will neighbors know what happened?

We work quietly and do not discuss the job with anyone but you. Ask us about any specific concerns before we arrive.
